WMRL is a non-profit distributing company whose board of directors comprises; Ben Arnold, Michael Jones, Doug Ford, Denis Connery, Bob Hartley and John Purvis all of whom also work for WYG. The purpose of an environmental body is to receive Landfill Tax credit funds from landfill operators and spend the money on 'approved objects' as defined in the regulations.
All the directors of WMRL have worked either in the Waste Management industry or as consultants for many years. We are able to apply our knowledge of the industry and our experience in business to all our activities. WMRL is completely independent of any landfill operator, local authority and special interest groups. The company must also be a non-profit distributing company. The company provides an efficient professional service to both landfill operators and project coordinators alike.
Since the scheme started, WMRL has handled over 140 ENTRUST registered or approved projects. These include works on public amenities, various church renovation, recycling schemes and education in recycling as well as a wide variety of waste related research projects with a value of over £3 Million.
